I am devoted to providing therapy that is collaborative, strengths-based and empowering. Because I honor the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity for profound healing and growth, I approach my clients with respect, honesty, transparency, and acceptance. Every individual is a unique being and therefore my style is flexible to each client’s emotional, mental, personal, cultural, and developmental needs. I honor and celebrate diversity.

I believe in the inherent good in people and see most problems as arising out of attempts to adapt to the challenges within an environment and not out of weakness in an individual. I also believe in the importance of working experientially and through the body to create lasting change. Whether there is discomfort in the body related to trauma, anxiety, eating or size, or gender identity, my approach sometimes involves sensorimotor and yoga therapy techniques to address patterns and pain that is stored in the body.

I meet with individuals as well as couples, families, and groups. I encourage openness and honesty and my style is supportive yet direct. I am a feminist therapist meaning that when appropriate, I strive to raise awareness about the limitations of traditional gender roles and to challenge conditioned patterns and rules that may not be working for people personally or within their relationships.

My approach is compassionate and safe yet I am still an active participant and guide in the process. I will ask the hard questions while supporting you in gaining self acceptance and trust. I nurture hope, resiliency, self-worth and assertiveness.
