I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families from various backgrounds. I work with individuals on a range of presenting concerns; specializing in trauma, grief and loss, identity development issues (e.g., racial identity, sexual orientation, disability, acculturation, gender), ADHD, emotion management, and issues related to family of origin.
I believe that change occurs when people are able to create meaningful connections to others. To assist clients in their process, I use a relational, client-centered approach with a multicultural and social justice lens. I use warmth, humor, and authenticity to build relationships with my clients, which allow them to practice engaging in new patterns in a therapeutic environment.
Additionally, I strive to collaboratively identify clients' strengths and come up with strategies to help clients overcome difficulties and to live a fuller, more meaningful life.
